Details

Ceremonial grade matcha from Kyoto, Japan. Shade-grown Camellia sinensis, stone-ground to a fine powder. Caffeine with L-theanine, the way it's been drunk for 800 years.†

Most supplement labels list a dozen ingredients at doses too small to matter. This one lists one. That is the entire list.

How to make it: Sift 1 teaspoon into a bowl. Add 2 to 3 oz of water at 160 to 175°F (70 to 80°C). Whisk in a zigzag until frothy, or blend with milk for a latte.

What to expect: Matcha comes on gradually. It's often described as a steadier lift, without the sharp spike and afternoon dip.†

The guarantee: Your first order is covered by the Empty Tin Guarantee. See the product page for details.

What's in the tin

One ingredient.
That is the entire list.

Most matcha sold as ceremonial isn't. Real ceremonial grade comes from the youngest leaves, shaded for weeks before harvest, then stone-ground slowly enough not to scorch them. That is why it is bright green, faintly sweet, and costs more.

A morning, two ways

Same wake-up. Different afternoon.

Coffee is not the enemy. Matcha simply has less caffeine and comes with L-theanine, which slows the rise and softens the drop.†

The Starting Kit

Two tins. Six weeks. Then you know.

One tin is not enough to tell. Caffeine habits take about six weeks to change, so we send two, with a 14-day plan for switching off coffee without the headache. If the first tin doesn't change your afternoons, we refund the box and you keep the second.

FAQ

Questions we actually get asked.

What does it taste like?

Grassy and faintly sweet, with a savoury depth. Bitter only if your water is too hot. Keep it between 160 and 175°F.

How much caffeine is in it?

About 35mg per teaspoon, roughly a third of a cup of coffee. It comes on gradually because it arrives with L-theanine.†

Will I miss coffee?

Probably for the first week. The 14-Day Caffeine Reset in the Starting Kit is built for exactly that week.

Why isn't it certified organic?

Ceremonial matcha from Kyoto is often grown by small farms that don't hold organic certification, even where practices are traditional. We chose the grade over the badge. If that matters to you, we understand.

How does the Empty Tin Guarantee work?

Finish the first tin. If your afternoons aren't better, email us and we refund the box. You keep the second tin.

How do I skip or cancel?

From your account, any time before your next billing date. No emails, no calls.

How should I store it?

Sealed, somewhere cool and dark. Once opened, use within about two months for the brightest colour and flavour.

Where does it ship from?

Our fulfilment partner ships from the United States. Most orders arrive within 3 to 5 business days.

Start with two tins.

Six weeks is long enough to know. If you don't notice the difference, the first box is on us.
